Abstract

The Tm-Tm and Tm-Ho energy transfer dynamics was studied by analysis of kinetics at the resonant excitation of Tm and Ho ions in YSGG and GSAG crystals. The microparameters of dipole-dipole interaction between these ions at each stage of the transfer were determined. The strong noncoherent interaction between Tm and Ho ions was demonstrated. The population distribution between the upper laser levels of Tm and Ho ions was evaluated and was found to be in good agreement with the calculated one in approximation of purely nonresonant energy transfer.
