Abstract

We have obtained reliable, efficient stimulated Brillouin scattering in CS2 with a narrowed-linewidth 2.12-µm Cr,Tm,Ho:YAG laser. Several threshold reduction schemes have been investigated and threshold reductions of up to about four have been demonstrated. High fidelity phase conjugation was observed using threshold reduction.
