Abstract

Excitation and emission spectra of Cr, M (M = Ca or Mg ):YAG reveal different emission centers in the near infrared (NIR) region. These sites show different polarization dependence and the energy positions of their NIR origins are independent of the codopant Ca2+ or Mg2+.
