Abstract

A continuous wave, argon-ion pumped, Cp+:LiSrAlF6 laser is reported for the first time which, passively mode-locked using a saturable absorber, generates 33 fs pulses. Also, using a MQW absorber, pulses of 90 fs have been generated from a self-starting solid-state laser.
