Abstract

This volume is the Proceedings of the Topical Meeting on Advanced Solid State Lasers (formerly Tunable Solid State Lasers), which took place in Salt Lake City, Utah, March 5-7, 1990. This conference, sponsored by the Optical Society of America (OSA), the Lasers and Electro-Optics Society (LEOS) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), and the Strategic Defense Initiative/Innovative Science and Technology Office (SDI/ISTO) emphasized recent results in solid-state laser research, development, design, and performance. Also presented were advances in nonlinear optics and other technologies relating to solid-state lasers.
