Energy Transfer Kinetics in Nd3+,Cr3+:GSGG

Abstract

Tests performed with codoped GSGG laser reds demonstrated that operating slope efficiencies of approximately six percent are obtainable. Tests to characterize the energy transfer rates present, and determine mechanisms for optimizing the laser's efficiency have been initiated. Discussed are results obtained from transient signal measurements from the following samples provided by Litton Airtron Inc. and the Royal Signals and Radar Establishment:
