Direct Fabrications of Photonic Devices in Multi-Core Fibers with Rectangular Cross-Sections

Abstract

This paper reports ultrafast laser direct writing of optical components in multi-core rectangular shape fibers for sensing and fiber laser applications. We will discuss efforts to turn optical fibers from one-dimensional devices to three-dimensional devices.
