Abstract

The implementation of an optical memory for 1550 nm communication signals is here demonstrated. In order to perform such device, superimposed volume holograms have been stored in LiNbO3:Fe exploiting angle-multiplexing recording in visible light and wavelength-multiplexing read-out in near infrared. Experimental results of reconstruction of four-bit digital words by means of WDM optical beams are presented.
