Fast defocus measurement for laser communications with the holographic wavefront sensor

Abstract

Atmospheric effects significantly limit the performance of laser communications systems. We present simulations and experimental results of measuring one of the most important, and also easily correctable aberration – defocus – with the holographic wavefront sensor.
