Novel Mid-infrared Gas Sensor Based on Mutually Coupled Quantum Cascade Lasers

Abstract

We demonstrate a gas sensor utilizing two mutually coupled Quantum Cascade lasers. Experiments show a six time improvement in the sensitivity with respect to a common Laser Absorption Spectroscopy setup.
