Abstract
From the ardent bucklers of the Syracuse battle to more contemporary PZT deformable mirrors (DMs) widely used in astronomy or laser weapons, from large voice coil DMs considered in future ELTs to small ones embedded in retinal imagers, this paper will give an overview of DM technology for Adaptive Optics.
