Monitoring Brain Oxygenation Using Time-of-Flight Spectroscopy

Abstract

We measured oxygenation of the brain in animals during changes in oxygen delivery (hypotension, shock). We found that such changes were measurable, and detected one change before the problem was clinically noted, thus suggesting that such methods may allow for earlier intervention in the intensive care setting.
