Abstract

Theoretical and experimental study of spontaneous emission phenomena was carried out by femtosecond laser pulses. Spontaneous parametric conversion in type-I β-barium borate (BBO) crystal pumped by femtosecond pulses was studied, which induced to the generation of new colored conical emission (CCE) phenomena and second harmonic (SH). Our experimental results show that the green conical emission has the biggest divergence angle, which is consistent with the calculation results based on the phase matching condition. The pump intensity, incidence angle, polarization direction, and the thickness of crystal directly effect on conversion efficiency of SH and center wavelength of CCE, which shows the strong interaction between the pumping laser and SH wave.
