Light absorption and pyroelectrically induced optical damage in nominally undoped and magnesium-doped lithium niobate crystals

Abstract

This contribution deals with light absorption and temperature-change-induced optical damage due to the pyroelectric effect in undoped and magnesium-doped lithium niobate crystals. This effect is different from the photorefractive optical damage.
