Abstract

MEMS-VCSELs enable fractional tuning ranges of >11%, wavelength repetition rates >1MHz, and dynamic single-mode operation. These properties promise an economical optical source for imaging, metrology, and spectroscopy in applications from the visible to the mid-infrared.
