Abstract

The application of tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) to noninvasive real-time gas sensing for agro-food and medical processes is discussed. Some recent results of TDLAS monitoring are presented: 1) the spectroscopic measurement of the oxygen content applied to the quality control of food packaged in modified atmosphere and its application to in-line control on production sites; 2) the spectroscopic measurement of the carbon dioxide isotopic ratio in human breath for in-line medical diagnostics.
