Abstract

We propose a new type of compressive light field display using a single projector and two scattering polarizers. Scattering polarizer performs as a reflective or transmissive diffuser for the light with the specific polarization state. The projector which is synchronized with polarization rotator projects two images to layered scattering polarizers in sequence. These images correspond to each layer and offer 3D images to the observer. Each of view images is optimized to target image with simultaneous algebraic reconstruction technique. We explain the principle of the proposed system and verify its feasibility with simulations and experimental results.
