Optics and Electronics: Co-design and Technology Merging

Abstract

Combining optical and electronic technologies leads to new functionality in millimeter-wave / terahertz spectroscopy and imaging as well as high data rate optical communication. This talk will highlight three projects, were the merging of optical and electronic technologies and functionality are demonstrated in sub-terahertz spectroscopy, high-data rate free-space optics with millimeter-wave wireless positioning as well as electro-optic modulators.
