Abstract

Today the assembly process of industrial equipments is faulty at the time of product evaluation, resulting in economic loss. This problem involves further modification to the process, such as prototyping to improve the profitability of the industry. Therefore, it is possible to consider the development of an assembly of electrical equipment through Augmented Reality [1], which consists of an interface natural interaction between a person's hand and virtual elements representing the mechanical and electrical parts. We will implement an algorithm for recognizing and tracking a user's hand as a natural element for interaction with virtual models. As hardware system for viewing, processing and data acquisition are used a laptop and a Kinect Sensor Xbox 360 . The programming code for the application is done in C + +, using OpenGL libraries [2], OpenNI [3], ARToolKit [4]. The end result of the application is an assembler of electrical equipment through Augmented Reality (AR) that can be implemented as a standard tool in industrial processes. The general scheme of the architecture of an assembly environment with augmented reality is shown in Figure 1.
