Demonstration of Bidirectional Symmetric 100-Gb/s/λ Coherent PON Using a Simplified ONU Transceiver

Abstract

A bidirectional symmetric 100-Gb/s/λ coherent PON with a simplified ONU transceiver is experimentally demonstrated. With only 3-dBm LO power at the ONU side, >30-dB power budget is achieved for both upstream and downstream with 50-km reach.
