Few-mode microfiber based high-sensitivity liquid refractive index sensor

Abstract

A few-mode microfiber based liquid refractive index (RI) sensor is fabricated by flame-brushing technique and experimentally demonstrated. The experimental results show the maximum RI sensitivity reaches 3107.4nm/RIU in the point around 1.387.
