Abstract

This paper investigates the performance of optical Multicore Fibers (MCFs) shape sensors with inscribed Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs) in relation to strain sensors length and proves that the employment of long gratings can significantly improve the efficiency in shape sensing.
