High quality factor hybrid silicon and lithium niobate micro-ring resonators

Abstract

We present a high-quality-factor lithium niobate micro-ring resonator based on multi-mode ridge waveguide which is designed to reduce the propagation loss, with the load (intrinsic) Q factor up to 8×5105 (1.2×106), corresponding to a propagation loss ~0.33dB/cm.
