Enhancing Laser Phase-noise Immunity of Distributed Vibration Sensor by Phase-extraction φ-OTDR

Abstract

We have demonstrated distributed vibration sensors based on phase-sensitive optical time-domain reflectometer (φ-OTDR) system exhibiting immunity to laser phase noise. By using phase difference method, two φ-OTDR systems with distinct linewidth shows comparable SNR.
