Construction of Irregular QC-LDPC Codes via Arbitrary Degree Distribution Masking Algorithm

Abstract

We propose a masking algorithm to optimize the girth and the number of short cycles in LDPC codes of superposition construction. Simulation results show the codes can improve 0.3 dB performance without the implementation cost.
