Abstract
A relative humidity (RH) sensor is proposed using a microfiber coupler (MFC) coated a single layer of Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanosheets. The microfiber coupler with a waist diameter of approximately 6 um is manufactured using flame heating technology. The effective refractive index of MoS2 changes due to electric charge transfer when water molecules are adsorbed on MoS2 nanosheets. It will affect the interference conditions of MFC. The results show that the sensitivity of the sensor is 115.3 pm/%RH and it shows a good linear relationship in the range of 54.0%RH-93.2%RH. The proposed sensor is expected to be used for humidity measurement in the fields of biomedicine and chemistry.
