Abstract

We experimentally test the atmospheric turbulence influence on modulating retro-reflection free-space optical transmission in an atmospheric cell using 40 Gb/s polarization-multiplexing quadrature phase-shift keying signals. The power penalty is <1.5 dB at 1E-3 BER.
