Low-overhead Equalization by SVM Classification Enabled 25-Gb/s NRZ per Wavelength Transmission with 10-G Class Optics

Abstract

We demonstrate a low-overhead SVM-based equalizer to improve performance of high-speed band-limited system. Experimental results show that, 0.06% overhead and 5-taps is used to obtain the same performance as DFE with 0.2% overhead and 11-taps.
