DFB Lasers with an active distributed reflector

Abstract

DFB lasers containing an active distributed reflector that has the same waveguide core and grating pitch as the gain section, has achieved 10-mA threshold current, 0.37-mW/mA slope efficiency, a 23 GHz modulation bandwidth, and clear 25-Gb/s eye diagram after 30-km SMF transmission.
