Abstract

Node architectures for metropolitan networks carrying 5G-services must balance cost, capacity and flexibility. Filtered/filterless architectures with protection and supporting hub-and-spoke and mesh logical topologies for locally processed service chains are compared, highlighting the resulting trade-offs.
