Abstract

We propose a hexagon dots/holes grating to realize polarization independent fiber-to-waveguide coupling. The coupling efficiency with arbitrary polarization for vertical coupler and for quasi-vertical coupler reaches −4.56±0.15dB and −5.7±0.53dB, respectively.
