Noncoherent Polarization-Multiplexing for TOSA/ROSA-Based 100G Optical Interconnect

Abstract

We proposed noncoherent polarization multiplexing (POL-MUX) recently without any coherence constraints (i.e. frequency or phase match) between the two polarizations. It enables an ultra-low-cost POL-MUX transceiver employing only direct modulation and direct detection.
