Abstract

We demonstrate a bend sensor with a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) and ellipsoid structure. Cladding modes are excited by ellipsoid and recoupled back to the core mode by FBG. Bending curvature sensitivity is 19.78 mW/m−1.
