Single-mode lasing in bottle microresonators by spatial gain engineering

Abstract

Based on engineering the pump intensity to modify the spatial gain profiles of bottle microresonators, we demonstrate a simple and general approach to realize single-whispering-gallery-mode (WGM) lasing in polymer bottle microresonators.
