Fully Distributed Optical Fiber Sensors and Their Applications in SHM

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

In this talk, a fully distributed fiber optical sensing system based on the combination of Brillouin and Rayleigh scattering light are developed. And the applications for the distributed fiber optical sensing system in SHM (structure health monitoring) are given. Vibration and stress on the detecting structure are identified and located by the designed system. The experimental results showed that the proposed system has an ability to monitor the structure health situation with high-fidelity.
