Hybrid Square-Rectangular Bistable Laser for Fast Low-Power All-Optical Flip-Flop

Abstract

We have demonstrated fast low-power all-optical flip-flop based on robust hybrid square-rectangular bistable laser. The average optical switching energy is 8.5 fJ and the set-reset response times are about 165 and 60 ps.
