Timing Phase Synchronization for Short-Reach Optical Direct Detected Systems Using Nyquist & FTN Signaling

Abstract

We propose a feed-forward timing phase synchronization algorithm operating at two-times oversampling for Nyquist/FTN pulse shaped optical IM/DD systems. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme has similar performance to existing algorithms using four-times oversampling.
