Real-Time 25Mb/s Data Transmission for Underwater Optical Wireless Communication Using a Commercial Blue LED and APD Detection

Abstract

We demonstrate a 25Mb/s real-time data transmission system based on FPGA transceivers for underwater optical wireless communications. The experimental results indicate that for λ =448nm, the achievable link distance in clear water is up to 50-meter.
