Abstract

A cost-effective coherent PON based on DML is proposed using intensity-modulation of PAM-4 signal. Optics filter is employed to control the chirp effect, to realize the 25-Gb/s/λ transmission of PAM-4, which could be extended to 100 (4×25)-Gbps Coherent PON.
