Low-Cost, Compact Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer Based on Silicon Oxynitride Waveguides

Abstract

An optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) based on silicon oxynitride (SiON) waveguides was demonstrated to have a dynamic range of 10 dB. The compact OTDR optical device was fabricated with III–V/Si hybrid integration technology.
