Abstract

Fiber-based quantum communication requires effective single photon sources. We designed a micropillar cavity consisting of tapered InP/InGaAsP and Si/SiO2 distributed Bragg reflectors. With high quality factor (~105), small mode volume and sufficiently thick quantum-dot containing active layer, the cavity is prospective to be applied as an efficient and coherent single photon source.
