Abstract

Electrical design for an unloaded transmission line of a travelling-wave photodetector is performed, enabling the 50-Ω impedance matching in a large frequency range from 1 to 135 GHz. Considering the velocity match of the optical waveguide and the electrical transmission line, a coplanar waveguide transmission line with adequately large gap width is adopted for extending the optical path of the waveguide.
