High Extinction Ratio and Low Driver Electro-Refrative Phase Modulator with Double Graphene Layers

Abstract

A Mach-Zehnder optical modulator with double graphene layers on silicon waveguide, utilizing the electro-refraction effects of the graphene, is demonstrated with great extinction ratio of 43.6 dB and low dynamic driver of 0.5414V.
