Applying Hadoop Cloud Computing Technique to Optimal Design of Optical Networks (Invited)

Abstract

We develop a Hadoop cloud computing system to parallel solve the bin-packing optimization problems in the optical network. Simulation studies show that compared to a single machine, the Hadoop system can significantly shorten computation time while achieving performance close to optimality.
