Carrier-depletion Mach-Zehnder silicon optical modulator for BPSK and multi-level applications

Abstract

We demonstrate a BPSK carrier-depletion modulator. The device generates a PAM-4 optical signal which means it is possible to be used in a 16-QAM applications.
