A Novel Spectrum Assignment Algorithm to Restrain the Generation of Fragments in Elastic Optical networks

Abstract

We propose a slot-weighted variable-group-based spectrum assignment algorithm to restrain the generation of spectrum fragments in elastic optical networks. Simulation results show more than 76% fragment reduction compared to the defragmentation algorithm.
