Cost-Optimized Design of Survivable Flexible Bandwidth Optical Networks

Abstract

We develop a hybrid-protection approach (HPA) and a dedicated-protection approach (DPA) to optimize the network cost in a survivable flexible bandwidth optical network. Simulation results show that HPA significantly can reduce network cost compared to DPA.
