Abstract

This paper gives a review for the recent work on silicon photonic integrated circuits based on ultra-compact arrayed-waveguide gratings (AWGs), e.g., hybrid (de)multiplexers with multi-wavelengths and multimodes or dual-polarizations, reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexers integrating AWGs with optical switches, etc.
