All-optical intensity modulation based on silicon core fiber

Abstract

An all-optical intensity modulation scheme is proposed by using silicon core fiber Fabry-Pérot (F-P) cavity. Intensity of 1535nm light is modulated by 976nm laser and the maximum intensity modulation depth achievable is estimated above 10dB.
