Abstract

We propose a K-means clustering-based approach to plan for the deployment of greenfield passive optical networks (PON) aiming to minimize the total deployment cost. Studies show that the proposed approach is effective to significantly reduce the deployment cost compared to a benchmark random-cut approach.
